New College Stamford’s annual Fashion Show never fails to impress and yet again, this year’s was a huge success! The college’s extremely talented students studying Fashion, Hairdressing and Hair and Media Make-up diplomas collaborated to showcase an array of stunning designs down the catwalk at Borderville Sports Centre.

Garments created by Fashion students were completely hand-made and have been a work-in-progress throughout the year, showcasing the level of skill and attention implemented into each and every design.

Hairdressing and Hair and Media Make-up students also wowed the crowds with a host of high-fashion and elaborate hair designs, make up and body art.

Their designs don’t just look amazing, they have meaning too. Hairdressing student Fiona Beaton Thorne and Media Make-up student Ella Perkins teamed up to raise awareness of a huge global, environmental issue of plastic in our oceans.

Ella Perkins, our Level 3 Media Make Up student, says ‘Working on fashion shows, theatre productions and through work experience during the course, I have had plenty of opportunities to experiment with a range of techniques to progress my career in editorial and fashion make-up.’

We were delighted to welcome to the judging panel Stamford hair salon owners Laura Hilton and Roger Curtis, plus barbers Stacey Swann and Alex Murray who decided on the winners of the evening.
