The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares you to become an Early Years Educator, permitting you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

The course is assessed entirely in the workplace so there is no need for you to attend College. Unless however you do not already hold a grade C in GCSE English and/or maths in which case we would require you to attend these classes at the College.

Once the qualification has been achieved, you will be able to enter the workforce as an Early Years Educator with a licence to practice.

You will have access to an E-portfolio where tasks are set on online. You will have the programme delivered in the workplace with the option to attend monthly workshops.

On successful completion of the course you can progress on to a variety of job roles such as Nursery School practitioner, Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools, Pre-school worker, Children’s Holiday Representative, Play Therapy Assistant. You could continue your study on to a foundation degree such as the Professional Studies (Early Childhood) Foundation Degree at University Centre Stamford.

You will be assessed throughout the course in your workplace so there will be no need to attend College unless you require GCSE English and/or Maths to complete your course. Successful completion of the course will be achieved by showing competence in a real work environment through observations, oral questions and written work.

You must be 16 years and over. You must be employed or volunteer in an Early Years setting.

There are 23 mandatory units.

The units are structured around three themes:
