This course is suitable for anyone working in the field of Health & Social Care. In the workplace, candidates will need to be working with individuals requiring support. An assessor will be allocated and candidates will gather evidence for a work based portfolio.

Upon completion of level 2, students may progress onto Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3, subject to interview.
Assessment takes place in the workplace, meeting national standards, using observation, witness testimony, reflective accounts and professional discussion. The candidate may also be expected to answer written or oral questions and produce assignments.
No person can be admitted to a carecourse if he/she is renderedunsuitable by any criminalconviction (subject to theprovisions of the Rehabilitation ofOffenders Act 1974).
There are no formal entry requirements, however all students will be assessed and must be working in a care environment.
This qualification is a combination of mandatory and optional units. Candidates must be assessed as competent in all of the mandatory units and a choice of two optional units. The choice of optional units will reflect the candidate’s work setting.
