This course will help support your personal and social development, and independent living skills. You will learn about and expand your knowledge in: personal presentation, good health, household skills, independent living, mobility, citizenship, money handling, budgeting, employability, developing friendships and leisure. You will also take part in enrichment activities such as performing arts, and art and crafts, and have the opportunity to undertake work-based projects in catering, horticulture, animal care and retail.

This programme also include sessions in English and maths, enrichment, tutorials, independence and supported study.

This course is 15% theory and 85% practical.

On completion of this course, you can progress to the Exploring Animals, Horticulture and Life Skills or Exploring Catering, Retail and Life Skills courses.

You will be assessed on your progress throughout the year and build a portfolio of evidence. The work is validated by an external verifier from AIM Awards. Functional skills will involve tests at the appropriate level.

All of our programmes are underpinned by the opportunity to develop life skills, communication development, travel training and safety in the community.

No formal qualification required.
