Gain the specialist skills you need to work in barbering through training on-the-job with an Apprenticeship. You will study units such as:

  • Cutting and shaping facial hair
  • Shampooing and conditioning
  • Cutting hair using basic barbering techniques

You may also need to study Functional Skills Maths and English Level 1, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and Employment Rights and responsibilities (ERR) units to successfully complete your training.

You will carry out your training entirely in the workplace and undertake modules of study including both theory and practice. Home study will be required.

Barbering Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 or employment.

Some attendance at college may be required and an Assessor will also visit you in the workplace to carry out practical assessments and monitor your progress.

There are no formal entry requirements but your previous skills and experience will be considered upon application.
