Take your first steps to becoming a qualified Team Leader or Supervisor in a first-line manager role. Key responsibilties are likely to include: supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships both internally and externally.
This course is approximately 80% work and 20% training.
You will be employed as an apprentice for at least 30 hours a week. As this is a supervisory level, it is anticipated that your mentor will be a manager or senior manager within the organisation. You will attend college for workshop sessions or classes as required. An assessor will visit you in the workplace to assess your progress against standards and set SMART objectives.
As a fully competent Team Leader or Supervisor, you could progress to the HND in Business at University Centre Stamford or various degrees at university, or employment. You could also further your progression by choosing to register as an Associate Member within the Chartered Management Institute to support your professional career development.
Assessment will be continuous through oral, written and practical work. An assessor will visit you in the workplace to carry out practical assessments and monitor your progress. Certification of the Apprenticeship framework will be issued on successful completion of your portfolio evidence for the NVQ, achievement of the Technical Certificate, all Functional Skills required, PLTS and the ERR Award.
Individual employers set their own entry requirements. However, you will typically require 5 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above including English and maths.
