Kick-start your career in engineering and gain the mechanical knowledge and skills you need to undertake a range of repair and maintenance tasks on a variety of land-based vehicles. You will cover many aspects of land-based engineering including: mechanical principles, tools and equipment, tyres and tracks, pneumatics, thermal jointing and cutting processes, servicing and repairing transmission and cooling systems, clutches, torque converters, braking and engines.

On successful completion of this course you can progress on to the Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma Level 3, or a trade specific or multi-trade apprenticeship. You could also progress into employment in job roles such as a Ground Care Technician or Service Technician.

4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above, or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject.
