Develop a range of skills and gain fundamental knowledge of the Business sector. You will explore the areas that specifically interest you such as finance, customerservice, marketing orsmall business management. This course will provide you with transferable, interpersonal skills valued by employers and universities.

You will undertake the National Citizenship programme which involves a residential trip (4 days), employability skills workshops and plan and carry out a social action project in the local community. This is to develop social interaction skills, team skills and develop employability skills and is a compulsory part of the course.

We also work in partnership with local/global businesses to provide a recruitment and selection day (linked to course units) to provide a realistic experience of the recruitment process for an apprenticeship.

In addition, business entrepreneurs provide a ‘Dragons Den’ style event to support completion of a business enterprise unit, business planning and develop presentation skills. The marketing units are supported by a trip to Sacrewell Farm/Cadburys World where branding techniques are explored to support completion of the units.

This course is approximately 60% theory and 40% practical.

You will produce a variety of documents throughout your course some of which will be used for internal assessment. You will complete written reports, create financial documents, independant projects, posters, displays and leaflets, recordings or interviews and role plays, logbooks and reflective journals and presentations. These learning methods are designed to support your individual learning style.

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the Business Extended Diploma Level 3, or a Business Administration, Customer Service, IT, Retail, or Team Leading, or employment.
