Further your experience and insight into the health and social care sector, acquiring a range of skills and personal attributes to progress to a supervised role in the industry. You will study communication, individual rights, individual needs and ensuring safe environments in health and social care, whilst gaining real-life experiences to support your studies.

This course is approximately 60% theory and 40% practical.

There are wide variety of learning methods including written assessment, professional discussion, presentations and group and practical activities.

After successful completion of this course you can progress to the Health and Social Care Extended Diploma Level 3 or a Health and Social Care Apprenticeship.

The majority of assessment will be completed through written tasks. Although there are externally marked assessments you will not have to take any exams as part of this course.

You will requirea DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate ‘with no grounds that a student is professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement’. Information about applying for this will be made available to you once you have been offered a place on the course.

4 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above including English and maths.
