Study both the practical and theoretical elements of Beauty Therapy enabling you to perform and recommend a wide range of professional treatments to your clients. You will develop the ability to give expert advice and promote retail products in our industry standard beauty clinics.

You will have the opportunity to take part in a number of trips, activities and competitions throughout the year. Previous trips and visits include: Salon International, The Clothes Show, Goldwell Academy London, Steiner Cruise Ships Careers Event, and a number of local employer masterclasses. You will also showcase your new skills in our Annual Fashion Show.

This course is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical.

You will learn through practical demonstrations and practice what you have learnt on real, paying clients in our commercial salon.

As well as gaining practical experience daily in our on- site commercial salon you will also complete a 1 week work placement in a salon, spa or a beauty related business. After successful completion of a trade test you may secure a placement at Ragdale Hall.

On successful completion of this course you can progress on to a Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing or Theatrical, Special Effects and Media Make-up Diploma Level 3 or an apprenticeship.

 

Practical assessments will be completed throughout your course as you provide treatments to clients and produce a portfolio of evidence. You will also be assessed through an external exam, graded synoptic test, a treatment portfolio.

A beauty uniform and a beauty kit is a mandatory requirement to enable you to complete this course. You will be notified about the contents and the supplier of this during their interview, where they will be given all the relevant order forms. You will also be expected to source clients for practical learning and gain relevant work experience.

4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including English, maths and science at grades C/4 or above, or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
