Our high flying Creative Arts students got the chance to take a once in a lifetime trip to Florence, Italy.

During the visit our students from Art & Design, Photography, and Graphic Design visited various famous landmarks so they could find inspiration and collect primary research for their final major projects.

Head of our Creative Arts department Rachael Cooper says, ‘Both staff and students benefitted greatly from this trip and had a fabulous time, in addition to our gallery and museum visits we ate some delicious Italian cuisine, saw some amazing architecture including the Ponte Vechio and the Duomo and generally soaked up Italian culture. Some of the students hadn’t been overseas or flown before so for them it was a real visit of first times.’

For others the highlights included seeing Michel Angelo’s David and Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. The Fashion students were blown away by the beautiful garments and objects in Gucci and the history behind Feragamo and everyone was amazed by the Monet experience which was a first for both staff and students.

Our Creative Arts department offers many courses, including photography, fashion, and graphic design. Call regarding more information about applying for September: (0)1780 484300 or visit our website www.stamford.ac.uk
