In 2017 Higher Education Centre Stamford were awarded ‘Silver’ in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), ranking us amongst the some of the best places to study at University Level in the UK, including top universities and Russell Group institutions.
The TEF Silver award recognises the excellent teaching and learning experiences and opportunities we provide for our students.
The TEF panel stated that UCS achieves excellent outcomes for all students, and is notably above benchmark with regards to assessment and feedback, and progression to employment or further study, with most other areas also being above benchmark.
The Panel reported that there was evidence of:
• High quality course design and assessment practices which provide scope for appropriate levels of stretch, and ensure all students are consistently challenged and ‘job ready’ when they complete their course.
• High levels of support for students from diverse backgrounds through the Academic Support Coach Scheme, and highly valued individual and small group sessions.
• Appropriate investment in to physical and digital resources to meet the needs of students to further their learning.
• Good mechanisms for improving the curriculum and delivery, sharing good practice, and personalising the support for the students to maximise their readiness for employment.
Overall, we believe these findings truly represent the priority we place on ensuring every student at Higher Education Centre Stamford experience the best learning opportunities possible.
The Silver TEF Award will be valid until June 2020.
