Level 3 Performing Arts student took in the culture exploring London in a 2 day industry experience residential in London last week.
To kick start the trip, students visited the world famous Pineapple Dance studios to take part in a workshop with West End performers Rich Gittins and Tasha Sheridan, who is currently starring in the hit musical ‘School of Rock’!

Having been inspired by the workshop, students then had the opportunity to see Tasha and the rest of the cast perform ‘School of Rock’ in The West End at the New London Theatre.

Day 2 was all about back stage! Students explored how professional theatre is made with an insightful and exclusive backstage tour at the prestigious National Theatre. Experiencing everything from how multi-million pound sets are constructed, to how actors are made to fly in certain productions. In contrast, students then headed to Shakespeare’s Globe, where students had the opportunity to hear all about how the theatre worked in Elizabethan times; as well as how our industry has evolved since.
Performing Arts Lecturer, Adam Fox, says ‘The residential was an insightful and inspiring experience for our students. They not only had an opportunity to see a top quality West End show, but also worked with members of the cast, gaining valuable industry experience and fuelling their passion for the performing arts.’
