Sports Student comes First in Great Eastern Fun Run October 2014

The event on 12th October had just over 5500 runners in total and NCS supplied 22 Marshalls to help with the organisation of the race. The Public Services students gained valuable experience helping to set up before the race.

Sports Science student Nathan Tweddie achieved first place in the Anna’s Hope 5k fun run, with a time of 17:03, with fellow student Ben Harding finishing 8th, and Liam Harnden and Brad Ingrim not far behind dressed as fairies!!

College Learner Services Advisor Lauren Clarke also completed the 5k run, raising just over £100 for the charity. Sports lecturer Justin Osborne was the fastest Parrot on the day and completed the half marathon in 2:08!!

The students are now collecting in their sponsor money and after a successful bucket collection last week the total is growing to over £500.
