Sports student Matt Wilson was awarded the Principals bursary to help fund his trip to Kitzbuhl, Austria for the European Triathlon Championships.

Matt was able to test his agility skills in the competition which saw him taking part in an Olympic distance triathlon.

Kindly the college sponsored me to help me with building my race bike, travel/accommodation costs and with entering races. Hopefully I can have a good year of racing this year and with the help from college this year I believe I can achieve this,” said Matt.

Unfortunately, luck was not on his side as Matt was unable to reach the finish line due to an injury.

Despite injuring himself, Matt is determined to qualify for next year and is competing in a number of additional races this year.
