Over 200 guests enjoyed an evening of success, celebrating the outstanding student achievements over the past year at our Annual Student Awards evening. The ceremony was hosted at our very own Borderville Sports Centre, which was decked out for the event with a red carpet, canapes and live performances!

The Student Awards is a celebration of student’s outstanding commitment, not only to college life, but also, to their studies and personal achievements over the past academic year. The ceremony showcases the determination and level of skill that students at New College Stamford possess.

Students, friends, family and staff were not only welcomed to the Brits style evening with the glitz and glam of a red carpet, but were also presented with wine and canapés on arrival, making it a night to remember!

This year, more than 2000 students were entered into the competition, with 26 students crowned winners for their outstanding efforts over the last academic year. Students were both nominated and voted for by staff in their categories including: Level 1, 2 and 3 Awards for Excellence, Apprentice of the Year, Award for Enterprise and Employability, Volunteer of the Year, and many more!

Adam Fox hosted the Awards night with outstanding professionalism, charm and wit. The audience were treated to a range of live entertainment, including a special performance by student band ‘Among The Citizens’.

Student of the Year was awarded to Tom Beardwell, who was presented with the award for his outstanding commitment and success throughout the year. He recently sculpted a series of life size torso’s after independently building a working relationship with a body builder outside of college as a model for his sculpture. His endeavour to pursue his passion for art as a career has already seen him start to make a living from his work and after posting images of his recent project online he has sold one of his sculptures for £1000!

Massive congratulations to Tom for all your hard work and determination!
