Talented Hair and Beauty students have gone and pulled it out of the bag once again, winning an amazing NINE national places at the Association of Hairdressing and Therapists Awards (AHT) National Final in Blackpool.

After taking home a staggering TWELVE awards in the Regional Finals, they were able to take their skills to Blackpool and showcase their abilities.

This year, Fiona Beaton Thorne and Millie Anne Bursnoll took home 1st and 2nd place in High Fashion and taking home her second award, Fiona also won 3rd for Cut and Blow Dry. Eleanor Barham achieved 1st place in Fantasy Facial Makeup and 4th in Body Painting. Georgia Butlin took home 2nd place for Face Painting and Lydie Halliday, Jade Walker, Ella Joyce and Yvonne Green put their bridal skills to the test walking away with 3rd and 4th place.

The AHT awards see the very best in Hairdressing and Therapy compete annually and attracts hundreds of entrants every year. Being awarded industry accredited awards like AHT highlight the level of experience and skills students are able to develop during their studies at New College Stamford’s Inspire Hair and Beauty Centre.

Sarah Young, Director of Learning for Service Industries said, “We are delighted that our student’s talents have been recognised once again through prestigious AHT industry awards. This is an excellent example of the amazing talent we have here at New College Stamford. The awards raise aspirations and provide opportunities to showcase the high level of skills that our students develop. Congratulations to all the winners who took part.”

We are also very excited that the AHT Regional Finals will be hosted right here at New College Stamford, allowing us to not only showcase our amazing home-grown talents but also our industry standard facilities to competitors across the Country. 

The centre boasts a large, fully equipped hairdressing salon open to the paying public, two beauty clinics, and a professional media make up studio. Inspire Hair and Beauty Centre also provides students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in real working environments, putting theory into practice through providing a range of treatments to paying clients, and gaining invaluable skills and knowledge to lead to their own personal success within a highly competitive industry.
