Out of 295 education providers taking part in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), University Centre Stamford has been awarded ‘Silver’ which ranks the centre amongst a selection of the UK’s top universities, including Russell Group institutions.

The TEF framework reviews university teaching and rates the quality of teaching, student experience and the potential employment outcomes for graduates.

The centre was commended by TEF for having “good mechanism for improving the curriculum and delivery, sharing good practice and personalising the support for the students to maximise their readiness for employment.”

University Centre Stamford was also noted as providing “high levels of support for students from diverse backgrounds through their Academic Support Coach scheme, and highly valued individual and small group sessions.”

Madeline Atkins, Chief Executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) which published the results, said:

“Students currently invest significant amounts of time, and indeed money and incurring debt in their higher education. They are quite right to expect a high-quality academic experience.”

“To hold any TEF Award, universities and colleges must have already cleared a high bar. The TEF measures excellence over and above this bar.”
