Site Carpentry Diploma Level 2

What can this course lead to?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery Diploma Level 3 or to job roles such as an Apprentice Site Carpenter, Trainee Carpenter or Trainee Joiner. Dependent on your ability, you may continue your studies with the Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment with a view to progressing to university or into managerial apprenticeship.

Who is it for?

This course has been designed to develop your practical skills and knowledge through real training in industry standard working environments. You will learn how to carry out second fixing and structural carcassing operations, whilst gaining an understanding of construction technology, information, quantities and communication. You will also learn and apply the principles of health and safety.

What is covered?

You will study the following units:

  • 201 Principles of building
  • 202 Structural carpentry
  • 203 Non-Structural carpentry prior to plastering
  • 204 Non-Structural carpentry following plastering
  • 205 Timber technology and the use of circular saw.

A Carpentry and Joinery Diploma Level 1 or equivalent, or relevant industry experience.

 We will review each appli­ca­tion on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suit­able for you.

One of the ways we do this is through a very effec­tive â€˜6 weeks to suc­cess pro­gramme’ that oper­ates from the first day you start your course. This includes sup­port such as (but not lim­it­ed to):

·         Allow­ing you to change cours­es if you change your mind in the first 6 weeks -sub­ject to availability

·         Mov­ing you between course lev­els if you are find­ing your cur­rent lev­el too easy / too hard, sub­ject to availability

·         One-to-one reviews with your aca­d­e­m­ic tutor to ensure you are pro­gress­ing and achiev­ing well
