What can this course lead to?

Most students progress from Pathways to a mainstream course in their chosen vocational area. There are opportunities to progress to a Supported Internship or the Employability Course.

Who is it for?

This course aims to give you skills and confidence to make the transition to further learning in the main college environment, or progress towards employment. You will choose to specialise in your own vocational subject area, which includes: Animal Care, Art, Business & IT, Catering, Childcare, Construction, Hair & Beauty, Motor Vehicle, Public Services and Sport. These programmes also include sessions in English and Maths, enrichment, tutorials, independence and supported study. 

What is covered?

Units studied include:

  • Budgeting and managing money
  • Team building
  • Employability
  • Sex and relationships
  • Alcohol and drug awareness
  • Young people
  • Law and order

You will also choose to specialise in your own vocational area, which includes: Animal Care, Art, Business & IT, Catering, Childcare, Construction, Hair & Beauty, Motor Vehicle, Public Services and Sport. This programme also includes sessions in English and maths, enrichment, tutorials, independence and supported study.
