12 September 2023

GCSE students at Stamford College and Peterborough College, part of the Inspire Education Group (IEG), are celebrating after hundreds of students secured their GCSE grades in English and Maths at this year’s GCSE results day.

Staff are immensely proud of the efforts made by students across the Stamford and Peterborough campuses. Marilyn Kennedy, Assistant Principal of Curriculum for Academic Studies, Maths and English, expressed her heartfelt congratulations, “Today’s results are testament to the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, and the excellent teaching and support that they have received from our dedicated staff. Whether they choose to pursue further education, vocational training or enter the workforce, gaining these qualifications will open up a wealth of opportunities for our students. Congratulations!”.

Trisha Franklin, Assistant Principal of Quality at Inspire Education Group, also expressed her pride for the achievements of IEG students, “I am immensely proud of the dedication of our Stamford College and Peterborough College students who worked towards achieving their GCSE results. These results not only demonstrate our learners’ academic ability, but also their commitment to their futures. Well done all”.

Among the successful students receiving their results today was Bailey Johnson of Stamford College, who gained GCSE qualifications in both Maths and English. Bailey shared, “I’m absolutely over the moon – I feel like a burden has finally been lifted!”. They continued, “The College has given me so much support, especially my Learning Support Assistant who would sit with me and go through anything I didn’t understand. I’m looking forward to coming back in September to study a Diploma in Level 3 Media”.

Stamford College’s Hannah Watts was also pleased with their results, sharing, “I feel like I can get further in life now that I have a Maths GCSE. The College were always great in offering me extra support. The hard work has paid off, and I’ll definitely be celebrating today!”.

Archie Bull of Stamford College achieved a Grade 6 in their English GCSE, saying, “I feel so proud of my results. My tutor, Janet, was so supportive, always making her way around the classroom to give a helping hand if anyone looked stuck”.

The success was emulated at the Peterborough campus, where adult learner, Paul Mould, was delighted to receive a Grade 5 in Maths and a Grade 4 in English. Paul shared, “It’s amazing, I’m beaming! It’s really opened up doors for me – I’m going on to do a Foundation Degree in Computer Science”. They continued, “If you want something, you’ve got to work for it, and I did just that. I’m so pleased and thank you so much to everyone at Peterborough College!”.

Peterborough College’s Harvey Cliffe achieved a Grade 5 in English. They shared, “I did a lot of extra sessions and worked really hard for this, so I’m really pleased!”. Harvey is looking forward to continuing their studies on the Electrical Installation course in September.

Manpreet Singh of Peterborough College received a Grade 4 in English Language, sharing, “I feel great! It’s a big relief to finally have this – my hard work paid off and I can’t wait for what the future holds”.

Peterborough College’s Amber Goodley achieved a Grade 4 in English, and is looking forward to studying Hospitality and Catering at Peterborough College this year. They shared, “I’m so happy! Thank you so much to all of my lecturers for their support!”.
