What Does The Programme Include
You will learn through a variety of methods including theory and practice, practical science activities, portfolio development, assignments, individual presentations and group work. The course will develop effective organisational and time management skills in order to complete the assessments outside of class time to meet your deadlines.
GCSE maths and English at grades C/4 or above as this is a requirement of university study. You may be able to undertake one of these qualifications whilst studying the Access to Higher Education course at the discretion of your course co-ordinator.We offer an online interview which will explain the Access to Higher Education programmes and also allow for an informal chat with the tutor for each subject before an offer to study with us can be made to you. The minimum age requirement to study this course is 19 or over on the 1st September 2023.
How The Course Will Be Assessed
You will be taught by lecturers experienced in both their subject and in teaching adults.
Assessment will be ongoing using a variety of methods including written, oral, and under exam conditions, in order to prepare you for your future university experience.
Fees, Finance & Funding
You may be eligible to undertake the course for free. Alternatively you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan (which is not means tested) and you do not have to pay back if you go to University to complete your course. More information will be provided at interview.
Potential Future Career
You will be encouraged to apply to universities by early January and upon successful completion of the course, particularly at merit or distinction level, you should be able to attend university to study in your chosen field.

You will have access to various study facilities including a recently refurbished Library where you’ll have access to books, journals and computers. You will also have tutorial and study support throughout your course to assist you with your studies.
