What Does The Pro­gramme Include

You will learn through a vari­ety of meth­ods includ­ing the­o­ry and prac­tice, prac­ti­cal sci­ence activ­i­ties, port­fo­lio devel­op­ment, assign­ments, indi­vid­ual pre­sen­ta­tions and group work. The course will devel­op effec­tive organ­i­sa­tion­al and time man­age­ment skills in order to com­plete the assess­ments out­side of class time to meet your deadlines.

Entry Require­ments

GCSE maths and Eng­lish at grades C/4 or above as this is a require­ment of uni­ver­si­ty study. You may be able to under­take one of these qual­i­fi­ca­tions whilst study­ing the Access to High­er Edu­ca­tion course at the dis­cre­tion of your course co-ordinator.We offer an online inter­view which will explain the Access to High­er Edu­ca­tion pro­grammes and also allow for an infor­mal chat with the tutor for each sub­ject before an offer to study with us can be made to you. The min­i­mum age require­ment to study this course is 19 or over on the 1st Sep­tem­ber 2023

How The Course Will Be Assessed

You will be taught by lec­tur­ers expe­ri­enced in both their sub­ject and in teach­ing adults.

Assess­ment will be ongo­ing using a vari­ety of meth­ods includ­ing writ­ten, oral, and under exam con­di­tions, in order to pre­pare you for your future uni­ver­si­ty experience.

Fees, Finance & Funding

You may be eli­gi­ble to under­take the course for free. Alter­na­tive­ly you can apply for an Advanced Learn­er Loan (which is not means test­ed) and you do not have to pay back if you go to Uni­ver­si­ty to com­plete your course. More infor­ma­tion will be pro­vid­ed at interview.

Poten­tial Future Career

You will be encour­aged to apply to uni­ver­si­ties by ear­ly Jan­u­ary and upon suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of the course, par­tic­u­lar­ly at mer­it or dis­tinc­tion lev­el, you should be able to attend uni­ver­si­ty to study in your cho­sen field.
