Practical Vs Theory


Course overview

This practical course will develop your understanding of the land based industry as well as learning how to assit with maintaining the health, well-being and accommodation of animals, including feeding, watering and handling and how to care for and grow plants.


What Does The Programme Include

You will learn through a combination of theory and practical based learning including written assessments, group discussions, presentations and practical handling of a variety of species.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements are required, just a desire to work with animals.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

The majority of the assessment is completed through ongoing assessment and practical handling of a variety of species. 

Additional Information

Overalls are provided for various levels but you will be required to purchase a tunic and steel-toe capped boots. This will be arranged by the College and more information will be provided regarding this at interview and enrolment.

Potential Future Career

On successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Animal Management Diploma Level 2 or employment in the industry.
