Course overview

The Lev­el 3 Award in Edu­ca­tion and Train­ing is an intro­duc­tion to teach­ing that will give you an insight into the roles, respon­si­bil­i­ties and rela­tion­ships in edu­ca­tion and train­ing, how to plan and deliv­er inclu­sive teaching/​training ses­sions and how to assess and give con­struc­tive and devel­op­men­tal feed­back. It is designed to give peo­ple the knowl­edge and con­fi­dence to teach in the post 16 edu­ca­tion sec­tor. This could be as a train­er in the pri­vate train­ing indus­try or as a teacher/​lecturer in fur­ther edu­ca­tion. This course is for new teach­ers with no teach­ing qual­i­fi­ca­tions or peo­ple who are not teach­ing yet.

 

Entry Require­ments

No for­mal qual­i­fi­ca­tions required.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

Assess­ment will include a series of writ­ten assign­ments, port­fo­lio devel­op­ment and a micro teach to fel­low stu­dents. The qual­i­fi­ca­tion is award­ed by City and Guilds and on suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of all three units is worth 15 credits.

£672 payable upon enrol­ment on to the course.

Poten­tial Future Career

The Award is worth 12 cred­its and is the first step in to fur­ther teach­ing qual­i­fi­ca­tions such as the TAQA — Lev­el 4 Award in Assur­ance of Assess­ment Process­es and Practices.

You will study three units:

  • Under­stand­ing roles, respon­si­bil­i­ties and rela­tion­ships in Edu­ca­tion and Training
  • Under­stand­ing and using inclu­sive teach­ing and learn­ing approach­es in edu­ca­tion and training
  • Under­stand­ing assess­ment in edu­ca­tion and training
