The qualification would be useful for anyone who would like to develop their use of counselling skills for use in either work or in a personal capacity. You may wish to progress towards further qualifications, or to study this programme in order to complement other programmes (e.g. health and social care; children’s care, learning and development; voluntary and community work).

This qualification is great for anyone interested in a career in counselling, support workers, customer service staff and new managers/team leaders. You will gain an awareness of a range of counselling skills and how to use them through interactive practical exercises.
The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is designed to provide education and training for those who may use counselling skills when working with others. This can be in any field which involves interacting with other people – from customer services, nurses to managers. It is useful for a wide variety of people.
It gives opportunities for those who may use counselling skills when working with others to achieve a nationally-recognised, Level 2, vocationally-specific qualification. It will also help you to enter employment in fields working with people or to progress to further vocational qualifications such as the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills and Theory. The course will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills you need as an introduction to counselling skills. It gives you opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.
This qualification does not qualify learners to practice as a counsellor.
