Course overview

This qual­i­fi­ca­tion will allow you to devel­op and expe­ri­ence a range of Knowl­edge and prac­ti­cal skills across the Con­struc­tion Trades. All prac­ti­cal tasks are sim­u­lat­ed to match real indus­try sce­nar­ios, con­struct­ing a brick wall, paint­ing tech­niques, fix­ing archi­trav­es and skirt­ing are some of the skills you will learn.

 

What Does The Pro­gramme Include

You will learn through a com­bi­na­tion of the­o­ry and prac­ti­cal based learn­ing includ­ing writ­ten assess­ments, group dis­cus­sions, pre­sen­ta­tions and prac­ti­cal han­dling. The knowl­edge required to sup­port this is learnt through a com­bi­na­tion work­books and work packs using online and paper-based resources. You will learn new skills from experts in the Con­struc­tion indus­try. All prac­ti­cal tasks are sim­u­lat­ed to match real indus­try sce­nar­ios. You will also com­plete work­books and assign­ments to devel­op your the­o­ry knowl­edge. and take part in Con­struc­tion work relat­ed lean­ing projects.

Addi­tion­al Information

Vis­its from indus­try pro­fes­sion­als will help you devel­op your knowl­edge of the dif­fer­ent career oppor­tu­ni­ties with­in the trades and pro­vide you with advice from experts in your field. You will gain insight into the lat­est con­struc­tion meth­ods used by var­i­ous indus­tries and also have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to take part in var­i­ous region­al and nation­al com­pe­ti­tions such as World Skills. The Col­lege is proac­tive in under­tak­ing a vari­ety of com­mu­ni­ty projects which you will be involved in. All mate­ri­als used to sup­port you in your stud­ies are made avail­able via Google Class­room which can also be used to sub­mit your work. You will require a uni­form con­sist­ing of full-length work trousers and safe­ty footwear for the work­shop, along with a change of footwear when leav­ing the work­shop. This can be pur­chased on our web­site. You will also need course spe­cif­ic text­books and sta­tionery. You will be sent a full list of mate­ri­als and equip­ment pri­or to enrolment.

Poten­tial Future Career

On suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course you can progress on to a Prop­er­ty Main­tech Oper­a­tive Appren­tice­ship or spe­cialise in a con­struc­tion trade.
