What Does The Programme Include
Entry Requirements
This course is intended for practicing electricians as part of the assessment for this qualification, learners must hold one of the following:
For individual holding older legacy qualifications a current ECS installation Gold Card will be accepted.
- 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Building, Structures and the Environment)
- 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
- 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification
- 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Experienced worker route)
- 2346 Level 3Electro Technical Experienced Worker Route.
Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable. or ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card.
The qualifications above must have been achieved no more than 5 years prior to starting this qualification or there must be evidence the candidate has remained current by completing relevant CPD such as a City and Guilds 2382 or equivalent.
How The Course Will Be Assessed

Course fee: £480
You will be required to purchase your own safety equipment (boots and overalls) and Electricians On-site Guide book prior to starting the course. Details on where topurchase these along with costs will be given to you.
Course Content
- Statutory and non- statutory documents for selection, installation and commissioning and EVC equipment.
- Traffic management orders situation identification.
- Suitability of different modes of charging equipment and connections
- Design an installation, including assessment of location, and methods for selecting suitable cable.
- System earthing and supply arrangements
- Risk associated with installation, including PEN/CNE conductor faults, electric shocks.
- Requirements for inspection, testing, commissioning and handover of EVC equipment and circuits.
- Electrical energy storage systems.
