Course overview

The course is a one-year programme consisting of a range of units designed to help develop your personal and professional skills and abilities. 

The unit is designed to support and prepare you to progress into several areas whether that be a Level 2 course (such as IT or Business for example), an apprenticeship or employment. The course will help you develop personal skills alongside maths, English and a range of others.

 

What Does The Programme Include

Lessons will include practical activities, seminars and tutor led discussions. You will also have regular Academic Tutorials which are one to ones with your course co-ordinator.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but an interview is necessary.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed via a variety of methods over the year, these assessments will take place throughout the year and will be designed challenge you in different ways and allow you to showcase your knowledge and abilities. The assessments on the course are all pass/​fail.

Additional Information

Throughout the duration of the course there may be trips which may require payment to attend.

Potential Future Career

On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto a range of Level 2 Courses including IT, Business, Creative Media or Travel and Tourism). You could also consider Business Administration, Customer Service, IT, and Retail Apprenticeships, or enter employment.

Course Content

The units on the course cover a range of areas such as communication, problem solving, personal finance management, looking towards employment and progression opportunities as well as preparing you for those and culminates with a larger candidate project with which you have a choice in what you would like to base that project around.
