Practical Vs Theory
Course overview
The course is a one-year study programme consisting of a range of units aimed to help develop your personal and professional skills and abilities.
It is designed to support and prepare you to progress into several areas whether that be a Level 2 course (such as IT or Business for example), an apprenticeship or employment. The course will help you develop personal skills alongside maths, English and a range of others.
What Does The Programme Include
Lessons will include practical activities, seminars and tutor led discussions. You will also have regular Academic Tutorials which are one to ones with your course co-ordinator.
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required for entry onto the but an interview is necessary. If successful at interview you will be enrolled on to this course as well as GCSE maths and English.
How The Course Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed via a variety of methods over the year, these assessments will take place throughout the year and will be designed challenge you in different ways and allow you to showcase your knowledge and abilities. The assessments on the course are all pass/fail.

Potential Future Career
On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto a range of Level 2 Courses including IT, Business, Creative Media or Travel and Tourism). You could also consider Business Administration, Customer Service, IT, and Retail Apprenticeships, or enter employment.
You will need to pass this course to progress on to a Level 2 course.
Course Content
The units on the course cover a range of areas such as communication, problem solving, personal finance management, looking towards employment and progression opportunities as well as preparing you for those and culminates with a larger candidate project with which you have a choice in what you would like to base that project around.




Work experience placements linking to laws and legislation has allowed me to successfully secure an unconditional offer to study Business and Law at University.
