Practical Vs Theory
Course overview
This part-time course will start in late September 2021 and will be primarily delivered online with termly on site sessions as identified by your tutor.
Some level of technical skill will be required in order to access the online lessons such as being able to use a webcam and microphone enabled device (ideally a laptop / desktop) as well as being able to submit pictures of your work for marking.
These courses are foundation tier and use the awarding bodies AQA for GCSE English and Edexcel for GCSE Maths.
What Does The Programme Include
You will develop your understanding of English through a variety of online tasks, alongside dedicated support from our expert tutors.
Entry Requirements
It is recommended that you have a current grade D/3 in English, with the aim to improve to a grade 4/C. This qualification is exam based and centred around developing your skills so you can develop to the next level.
You must be over the age of 18.
How The Course Will Be Assessed
You will undertake exams in late May or early June as long as there is no impact from COVID-19.

Potential Future Career
We are frequently told by students that they wished they had secured better grades in their GCSEs as many employers and most universities required at least a Grade C before you can progress. Undertakin this course will allow you to secure qualifications that alongside further courses could help you gain a promotion, further qualifications or even achieve a place at university.
