Course overview

This part-time course will start in late Sep­tem­ber 2021 and will be pri­mar­i­ly deliv­ered online with termly on site ses­sions as iden­ti­fied by your tutor.

Some lev­el of tech­ni­cal skill will be required in order to access the online lessons such as being able to use a web­cam and micro­phone enabled device (ide­al­ly a lap­top / desk­top) as well as being able to sub­mit pic­tures of your work for marking.

These cours­es are foun­da­tion tier and use the award­ing bod­ies AQA for GCSE Eng­lish and Edex­cel for GCSE Maths.


What Does The Pro­gramme Include

You will devel­op your under­stand­ing of Eng­lish through a vari­ety of online tasks, along­side ded­i­cat­ed sup­port from our expert tutors.

Entry Require­ments

It is rec­om­mend­ed that you have a cur­rent grade D/3 in Eng­lish, with the aim to improve to a grade 4/C. This qual­i­fi­ca­tion is exam based and cen­tred around devel­op­ing your skills so you can devel­op to the next level.

You must be over the age of 18.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

You will under­take exams in late May or ear­ly June as long as there is no impact from COVID-19.

Poten­tial Future Career

We are fre­quent­ly told by stu­dents that they wished they had secured bet­ter grades in their GCSEs as many employ­ers and most uni­ver­si­ties required at least a Grade C before you can progress. Under­takin this course will allow you to secure qual­i­fi­ca­tions that along­side fur­ther cours­es could help you gain a pro­mo­tion, fur­ther qual­i­fi­ca­tions or even achieve a place at university.
