Course overview
An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and troubleshoot non-routine problems.
The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisation’s productivity.
What Does The Programme Include
You will be employed as an apprentice for at least 30 hours a week. You will have a workplace mentor or supervisor who will be responsible for your training and welfare at work. You will attend college for workshop sessions as required.
Entry Requirements
Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include 5 GCSEs (espically English, maths and a science or technology subject); a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills.
How The Course Will Be Assessed
An assessor will visit you in the workplace to assess your progress against the occupational standards and set SMART objectives.
Potential Future Career
This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the register of IT technicians confirming SFIA Level 3 professional competence and those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration.
