Course overview

This course will develop your knowledge and awareness of health, social care and childcare. You will learn about the principles and values, communication, working in partnership, importance of play and healthy eating to support well-being and development. You will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience to support your studies.

 

What Does The Programme Include

There are wide variety of learning methods including written assessment, professional discussion, presentations and group and practical activities.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but an interview is necessary where should demonstrate your desire to work in either the early years, or health and social care sector.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed by ongoing assessment throughout your course.

Additional Information

Students will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate with no grounds that a student is professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement. Application for a DBS is managed by the College and we will contact you with the forms and guidance you require to complete this before you are due to start your course.

Potential Future Career

This course will give you the opportunity to gain insight into the industry before making decisions about career progression. After successful completion of the course you can progress on to Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners.
