Course overview

IT Professional Apprentices bring the knowledge, transferable skills and behaviours to become an IT Professional. Through on the job experience and guided training an Apprentice will become competent in IT services, software and website development, technical sales and consulting. This course is delivered 4 days in the workplace and 1 day at College. This course is suitable for those currently working in, or looking to work in fields such as: IT services, software and web development, technical sales and consulting. There are multiple start dates throughout the year.

 

What Does The Programme Include

You will be employed as an apprentice for at least 30 hours a week. You will have a workplace mentor or supervisor who will be responsible for your training and welfare at work. You will attend college for workshop sessions as required. An assessor will visit you in the workplace to assess your progress against standards and set SMART objectives.

Entry Requirements

Individual employers set their own entry requirements. However, you will typically require 5 GCSEs at grades 4/​C or above including English and maths.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

Apprentices will be supported by their assessor to build and complete a portfolio as well as preparing for online exams to test competency.

Additional Information

Apprenticeships are free (fully funded) for those aged 16 to 18, and who are working for an employer with less than 50 employees. A fee of £400 is payable by the employer should they wish to employ an Apprentice over the age of 19, or if the employer has a workforce greater than 50 employees.

Potential Future Career

Successful completion of this apprenticeship will allow you to progress to the Level 3 IT Professional or the Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeships.
