Course overview

Com­plete ser­vices and repairs on light vehi­cles such as cars and vans, work­ing in either a deal­er­ship that focus­es on a par­tic­u­lar man­u­fac­tur­er, or an inde­pen­dent garage that deals with var­ied makes of vehi­cles. You will work on all sys­tems found with­in vehi­cles, replace sim­ple parts, solve com­plex faults using diag­nos­tic meth­ods and equip­ment, and demon­strate expe­ri­ence in the tech­ni­cal side of your role.

 

Entry Require­ments

Indi­vid­ual employ­ers set their own entry require­ments. How­ev­er, you will typ­i­cal­ly require 5 GSCEs at grades 4/C or above includ­ing Eng­lish and maths.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

An asses­sor will vis­it you in the work­place to assess your progress against stan­dards and set SMART objectives.

Poten­tial Future Career

On com­ple­tion, you will be able to progress into the motor vehi­cle indus­try in roles such as a Motor Vehi­cle Tech­ni­cian or Motor Vehi­cle Ser­vice Advi­sor. You could also progress to uni­ver­si­ty to study degrees such as Engineering.
