Practical Vs Theory
Course overview
Complete services and repairs on light vehicles such as cars and vans, working in either a dealership that focuses on a particular manufacturer, or an independent garage that deals with varied makes of vehicles. You will work on all systems found within vehicles, replace simple parts, solve complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment, and demonstrate experience in the technical side of your role.
Entry Requirements
Individual employers set their own entry requirements. However, you will typically require 5 GSCEs at grades 4/C or above including English and maths.
How The Course Will Be Assessed
An assessor will visit you in the workplace to assess your progress against standards and set SMART objectives.
Potential Future Career
On completion, you will be able to progress into the motor vehicle industry in roles such as a Motor Vehicle Technician or Motor Vehicle Service Advisor. You could also progress to university to study degrees such as Engineering.
