Sport and exercise scientists continue to be a growing presence in the world of work. This course has a greater emphasis on sports science units which are an entry requirement on degrees such as Physiotherapy and Sport Science. You will study units that reflect your own aspirations and the diverse nature of the sport science sector including; anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, sport psychology, sport and exercise physiology, fitness testing, sports nutrition, research methods, exercise health and lifestyle. 13 units- 7 mandatory and consisting 4 externally assessed/exam based units. 30 hours of work experience to be completed. Equivalent in size to three A Levels.
You will gain top tips from guest speakers and have the chance to go on trips to real workplaces within the industry such as the English Institute of Sport and Sport City Manchester.
My tutors encouraged me to get real experience writing a sports column for the local paper, I now have a place on a Sports Journalism Degree at University.
