Course overview

If you want to pursue a career in the fitness industry then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to aid your progressions in to a career in fitness and the leisure industry. This qualification is equivalent in size to two A Levels. It is a two-year, full time course that meets entry requirements for learners who would like to progress to higher education as an exit route or even straight into emplyment within the fitness and leisure industry.

 

What Does The Programme Include

You will learn through a combination of group work, team building, peer assessment, individual tasks, power point presentations and methods of online learning. The course is designed so that you can utilise theory in your practical sessions.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and maths at grades C/​4 or above.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed mainly through course work including presentations, reports and ipad assignments which are uploaded online. Two units will be assessed by exams.

Additional Information

You will need to provide £150.00 towards uniform, this will also cover your trips for the year.

Potential Future Career

Following successful completion of this course you can progress on to study the HND in Sport and Excercise Science at University Centre Stamford or go to University to study sports specific degrees. You could also progree to a sports Apprenticeship program or enter employment.

  • Instructing exercise to music 
  • Sport injury management
