You don’t have to travel far to get a great degree level qualification.
In fact, University Centre Stamford is in the top 5% nationally for Student Satisfaction (National Student Survey, 2018).
We believe students succeed in a smaller environment with greater support, so we get to know you, your work-life challenges and your career goals. We get employers involved in your learning through work experience and guest lecturing, and ensure you have access to industry standard equipment so you’re developing the skills and experience employers want!
Thanks to the great employer links at UCS, I secured a placement whilst studying at Dsquared. I now work full time at Dsquared and I love it!
Within four months of graduating from my course I was offered Junior Photographer at one of the biggest Photographer companies - Kurt Geiger!
Studying for my degree was the best thing I ever did. I have been appointed as an Outdoor Education Lead for a local school where I will build and implement a forest school education from scratch.
EXCELLENT TEACHING & LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
According to the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), UCS is among the best places to study at University Level in the UK. In 2017, we were awarded the TEF Silver award in recognition of the excellent teaching and learning opportunities we provide for our students.
SMALL CLASS SIZES
Our classes rarely exceed 15 students, meaning your tutor has more time to support you and you have better access to resources. We also provide tailored one-to-one academic support and careers advice to all of our students meaning you have the best opportunity to succeed in your studies and life beyond.
PAY LESS, GAIN MORE
Choosing to study with us can save you tens of thousands of pounds. Our fees up to £3000 per year less than most universities, but that’s not all. The average UK student spends £26,970 over a three-year period on living expenses. If you study without moving away then you can avoid this debt.
THE CHOICE IS YOURS
You can decide to study for one year for a Higher National Certificate, or 2 years for a Higher National Diploma
Entry requirements for most Higher National Diplomas require one A Level or an equivalent qualification, or significant professional experience.
TRANSFORMING YOUR CAREER
At UCS we understand that employers are looking for industry-relevant experience from the graduates they hire. That’s why our courses have employer involvement and work experience and are delivered by lecturers who have spent time working in the sectors they teach in. This approach has resulted in 89% of our students being in further study or employment within six months of graduating. You will be supported in CV writing, interview skills and self-promotion techniques to enable you to gain that all-important experience required to break into employment.
SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT & RESOURCES
We provide industry-standard facilities to ensure you learn on the same equipment you will typically use in your future career. From state-of-the-art Apple Mac and PC suites, to free WiFi for all and Chromebooks you can borrow, there is everything you need to study for success.
LOTS OF OPTIONS
Once the qualification has been obtained, you can then re-evaluate all your options of whether you should continue with your studies, go straight into work or take a gap year.
A Higher National Diploma is only 2 years in duration and you will be issued with a qualification after this period.
FAST TRACK TO UNIVERSITY
You can top-up to a full degree. In fact, Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma can be a fast track to university.
