What can this course lead to?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to Level 3 Air and Defence Uniformed Protective Services (Extended) Certificate. You could progress to employment, an apprenticeship or entry to the RAF.

Who is it for?

This course, as part of Stamford College’s Air and Defence College is an amazing opportunity for those who wish to pursue a career with the RAF within the Public Services pathway in job roles such as a Regiment Gunner. You will take part in a blend of practical and theory activities with a range of assessment methods including three hours per week of personal training to develop your physical fitness. These activities will ensure you are well equipped to pass RAF basic recruitment training and as a student of the Air and Defence College you will be guaranteed a place (subject to entry criteria).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above including English Language and maths. Alternatively a relevant Level 1 Diploma and a GCSE grade 3/D in English Language and maths, or a pass in Functional Skills Level 1 English and maths. This course also requires an interview/informal chat with the curriculum lead for the Air and Defence college before a place can be confirmed.
