What can this course lead to?

On successful completion of this course with a Merit and a Distinction in Biology plus GCSE maths and English at 4, you can progress to the Animal Management Extended Diploma Level 3 or employment as an: Animal Technician Animal Care Shelter Worker Pet Shop Assistant Kennel or Cattery Worker

Who is it for?

If you want to develop the practical skills and experience you need to pursue a career working with animals, this is the course for you!. You will learn how to maintain animal accommodation, practical feeding, caring for exotic animals and their biology. You will undertake compulsory work experience to expand your knowledge, working in real life animal care settings.

You will study the following units: Practical animal health Introduction to animal biology and health Animal care work placement Animal welfare Animal behaviour assessment and safe handling Feeding, accommodating and moving animals
