This is a hands-on music production course. Much of your time will be spent in our recording and production spaces, working in small groups and individually. You will have your own DAW and will spend a significant amount of time studying individually. There is an expectation that you will carry out individual study outside of your scheduled timetable. Practical assessments take place at local music venues in order to give you real world experience of working within the audio production industry.
There are no exams for this course. Students build a portfolio of practical work for each of the units and complete written assignments. This leads up to a final major project of your choosing which will determine your final grade.
You will need to purchase an equipment pack at the start of the year costing £30. You will also be able to participate in creating online video content and will release your own music through major online retailers such as Spotify and Apple Music.
