On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the Plumbing Technical Certificate Level 3. Alternatively, you can progress to the Construction and the Built Environment Extended Diploma Level 3 with a view to progressing to university or to a managerial apprenticeship. To be recognised as a qualified plumber requires that you complete an additional plumbing NVQ which can only be obtained whilst working within the plumbing industry.

Who is it for?
This course is for students who want to develop their practical skills and knowledge of installing and maintaining modern domestic plumbing systems for work in the plumbing industry. You will train in our workshops through practical taks simulated to match real life scenarios. You will learn the electrical and scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing as well as common plumbing, processes, hot water, drainage and central heating systems and sanitation.

A minimum grade 3/D in English (language) and grades 4/C in maths, plus two other GCSEs at grade 3/D or above.
You will be required to undertake 1 week work experience on a construction site, in a workshop or in a construction related field. You will also be expected to take part in community projects.
You will undertake formative assessments via exams and assignments. The final graded assessments consists of an on-line exam and practical assignment.
You will require a uniform consisting of steel toe capped boots and overalls which can be purchased from our website. During your interview you will also sit an online suitability assessment. The result of this, plus your previous academic achievements and maturity will determine the level of course you are offered.
