Level 3 Creative Media Students Visit Harry Potter Studios for Inspiring Movie Graphic Design Experience
Level 3 Creative Media students recently enjoyed an exciting visit to the Harry Potter Studios, taking part in a special ‘Movie Graphic Design’ session.
The session offered students an exclusive insight into the work of Miraphora Mina, the renowned graphic designer behind the iconic films, and explored how graphic design plays a vital role in creating the magical worlds seen on screen.
During the workshop, students learned about Mina’s creative process, techniques, and the challenges involved in designing visual elements that support storytelling and world-building. They were encouraged to think critically about typography, branding, and environmental graphics in the context of film, gaining knowledge that will directly inform their own design projects and creative practice.
Following the session, students embarked on the studio tour, exploring the sets, props, and artwork that brought the Harry Potter films to life. Highlights included character concept art, environmental designs, and an array of intricate props, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the detailed work that goes into producing blockbuster movies. The tour allowed students to see how creativity and technical skill combine in a professional media environment.
The trip proved to be a truly magical and inspiring experience for Stamford College’s future creatives. It provided not only an opportunity to learn from industry professionals but also sparked imagination and ambition, encouraging students to push the boundaries of their own design work as they continue to develop their skills in the Creative Media programme.
