Music Students Light Up The Voodoo Lounge

21 November 2025

Our first and second year Music students delivered an outstanding live gig at The Voodoo Lounge, showcasing both their performance skills and their professionalism behind the scenes.

With 80 tickets sold, the venue was filled with energy as students took full responsibility for the sound and lighting, demonstrating the depth of their technical ability as well as their musical talent.

Rachael Cooper, Head of Faculty for Business, IT, Media and Arts said, “live gigs like this provide an incredibly valuable learning experience for our Music students. Performing in a real venue, working with live sound, managing technical changes, and responding to an audience all help them build essential industry skills that simply can’t be replicated in the classroom.” She added, “Opportunities like this play a key role in preparing them for future careers in music and events.”

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Voodoo Lounge and their wonderful staff for hosting and supporting the event. A big thank you also goes to our own dedicated staff team, whose ongoing guidance and encouragement make opportunities like this possible.

Overall, it was a fantastic night that highlighted the creativity, professionalism, and potential of our students. We couldn’t be more proud.
