‘Party in the Car Park’ Welcomes Record Crowd of Nearly 1,000 to Celebrate Next Generation of Creative Talent
Stamford College was transformed into a vibrant exhibition and live festival for the highly anticipated ‘Party in the Car Park’ end-of-year showcase.
Drawing in nearly 1,000 attendees, including students, families, staff, and the local community, the buzzing event put the exceptional dedication and skill of the Creative Arts students on full display.
The annual event celebrates the culmination of hours of hard work across the entire academic year. Inside, the department was completely overhauled into a professional, sprawling gallery space showcasing photography, intricate sculptures, cutting-edge fashion, and a wide array of visual arts. Outside, the festival atmosphere came alive with local food trucks, a bar, and a massive main stage where the Music students delivered high-energy live band performances to a packed audience.
“It’s been amazing, it’s such a celebration of everything the students have achieved,” said Rachael Cooper, Assistant Head of Faculty for Business, IT, Media and Creative Arts. “We had so many compliments on how students have grown in confidence, how settled they are here, and there were just so many big smiles. It’s been a huge success. We’ve got work from Level 1 to Year 2 Level 3, hours and hours of work coming together that staff and students have poured themselves into.”
Adding to the evening’s prestige, the event welcomed Gavin, a representative and guest judge from the renowned Norwich University of the Arts. Facing a fiercely competitive lineup, Gavin had the unenviable task of selecting just five ‘Highly Commended’ projects and one singular ‘Best in Show’ for the entire exhibition.
The coveted ‘Best in Show’ award was taken home by Chloe Green, a Year 1 Level 3 student, whose striking artwork explored the profound impact that technology has on today’s society.
“I’m so happy, I was not expecting this at all,” said Chloe, reflecting on her win. “I’ve met so many new friends and I’ve had the best time in my first year. My tutors have been amazing, developing my ideas further and helping me to achieve the best I can.”

Sienna Wells – Level 3 Graphic Design Student
Jude Murphy – Level 3 Art and Design Student

The overwhelming success of ‘Party in the Car Park’ highlights Stamford College’s commitment launching the next era of creative professionals into the industry.
