Setting Sail for Success: The Remarkable Achievements of Logan Bell
Logan Bell is making waves far beyond the classroom, balancing his Level 2 Art and Design course at Stamford College with an extraordinary international sailing career.
Having found focus and confidence through the sport at a young age, he now uses his expertise to champion inclusivity. “What motivates me to pursue sailing to a high level isn’t just competition, but the opportunities it creates to help others,” he said, highlighting his impactful work coaching disabled sailors, neurodiverse youth and ex-military veterans.
His dedication to the sport has earned him prestigious international recognition, including an invitation from the Head French Sailability Coach to mentor junior sailors in France. Furthermore, Logan’s leadership has been recognized at the highest level domestically. He said, “I have also been asked by senior figures within British sailing to take my own junior team to represent Great Britain, where I will be leading them as Head Coach in the coming year.”
These elite coaching roles follow Logan’s history-making achievement as part of the first British team ever to enter the junior international competition. This experience solidified his reputation as a rising star in the sailing world and a trusted mentor for the next generation. He said, “Being able to support young sailors at an international level, across multiple countries, is something I am incredibly proud of,” emphasising his commitment to developing athletes as both sailors and people.
Despite his international schedule, Logan remains committed to his education, using his media skills to document and brand his journey. He credits his progress to the environment at Stamford College, noting that the flexibility of the staff has allowed him to excel in both areas. He said, “The encouragement and support I’ve received have made it possible for me to continue progressing in my sport while staying in education, and it makes a real difference.”
After College, Logan is looking to combine his sailing career with coaching, leadership and creative skills and long-term aims to work internationally within sailing, contributing to inclusive sport at the highest level, using his platform to support young people who may not normally see sailing as accessible to them.
