Stamford College Air & Defence Students Launch Series of Operational Visits at Local Base, RAF Wittering

Air & Defence College students from Stamford College recently stepped onto the base at nearby RAF Wittering, kicking off an exciting series of planned station visits designed to give them a behind-the-scenes look into life in the Royal Air Force.

For this initial visit, the first of many planned trips to their local station this year, students toured the Station Heritage Centre, connecting with the region’s rich aviation history and military legacy. Subsequent visits throughout the year will build upon this foundation, introducing students to the wide array of career pathways within the RAF, deepening their operational understanding of a working station, and offering an authentic look into the day-to-day life and routines of active service personnel.

Gaining firsthand experience in active, local defence environments gives our students a distinct advantage as they connect classroom learning to real-world career goals.
