Stamford College Bricklaying Apprentice Wins Intermediate Apprentice of the Year

Stamford College is proud to celebrate the outstanding success of Kyle Simmonds, a Bricklaying Apprentice with Hardy Construction Ltd, who has been awarded Intermediate Apprentice of the Year at the prestigious Peterborough Telegraph Apprenticeship Awards.

Kyle embodies the dedication, skill development, and positive impact that an apprenticeship programme aims to develop. His journey into the construction industry, through a Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship, was a deliberate and insightful career choice. Recognising the value of combining practical, hands-on learning with essential theoretical knowledge, Kyle committed himself to developing a comprehensive skill set directly aligned with the demands of the trade.

Within Hardy Construction, Kyle’s role is fundamental to project delivery. As a Bricklaying Apprentice, he is an integral member of the site teams, contributing daily to the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of their builds. His responsibilities include laying bricks, blocks, and a variety of building materials while ensuring full adherence to specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. His drive, precision, and professionalism are evident in every task he undertakes.

Kyle’s achievement highlights not only his personal commitment but also the wider value of apprenticeship programmes within businesses.
