Stamford College Celebrates Alumni Graduation from RAF Halton into Specialist Phase 2 Training

26 March 2026

Stamford College is proud to celebrate the success of former student Lucas Durrant, who has officially graduated from Phase 1 Initial Training at RAF Halton.

Lucas completed the Air and Defence College and Level 3 Public Services course in 2024-25 and his successful transition into the Royal Air Force marks the culmination of years of preparation and discipline developed during his time at Stamford College.

The Phase 1 course at RAF Halton is a grueling introduction to military life, focusing on physical fitness, weapon handling, and the core values of the RAF. Having built a strong foundation through his Level 3 studies, Lucas navigated the challenges of basic training.

His graduation was attended by Sara Gibson, Air and Defence Coordinator at Stamford College and Sqn Ldr Helen Grantham who shared congratulations and best wishes on the Colleges behalf.

Lucas will now move on to Phase 2 Training as a Mover (Logistics). The 18-week training will allow him to manage the global movement of RAF personnel and cargo, utilising some of the most advanced transport aircraft in the world.

The Stamford College community extends its warmest congratulations to Lucas and wishes him the best of luck as he begins his specialist logistics career.
