Stamford College Creative Arts Students Find Inspiration in the Heart of New York City

24 February 2026

Level 3 Creative Arts students from Stamford College have recently returned from an unforgettable trip to New York City!

This immersive trip was designed to expose students to the pinnacle of global art, history, and performance, providing an experience to enhance their current studies and future career aspirations.

The journey began with a deep dive into the city’s most iconic landmarks and architectural wonders. Students took in the breathtaking views from the top of the Empire State Building, walked the historic expanse of the Brooklyn Bridge, and paid a  visit to the 9/11 Memorial.

From the bustling energy of Times Square to the landscapes of Central Park and a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty, the group travelled through the city, witnessing firsthand the urban environment that has inspired generations of creatives.

The trip served as a masterclass in art history and contemporary design as students explored the “Big Three” of the New York art world. They marvelled at the stunning spiral architecture of the Guggenheim, navigated the endless halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), and studied the brilliant modern displays at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

These visits allowed students to see world-renowned masterpieces up close, bridging the gap between their classroom theory at Stamford College and the reality of the global art industry.

The magic of Manhattan’s performing arts scene was a major highlight, featuring a spectacular evening at the theatre to see The Great Gatsby on Broadway. To wrap up their incredible journey, the students visited the world-famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner, where the room was filled with the sounds of famous Broadway tunes performed by the singing waitstaff, leaving the students with a lasting impression of the city’s vibrant creative spirit.

This successful trip has provided our Level 3 students with a wealth of inspiration to carry forward into their own coursework and practices.
